• History of Leo Movement in Sri Lanka

Leo movement in Sri Lanka began in 1969 with the inauguration of the country’s first-ever Leo Club. Since then, it has grown into a dynamic platform that has empowered thousands of youth by providing opportunities to develop leadership, engage in meaningful community service and nurture personal growth. Over the past five decades, it has established itself as one of the strongest youth service networks in the country, inspiring generations to serve with dedication and purpose.

• Leo Multiple District 306

Leo Multiple District 306 serves as the principal administrative body uniting twelve Leo Districts across Sri Lanka and Maldives. Its core responsibility lies in maintaining administrative balance and unity while strengthening the overall Leo movement. The Leo Multiple District Council functions as the governing authority, offering guidance, coordination and an administrative framework that enables district and club-level activities to take place harmoniously. Through this structure, Leo clubs across the region work collaboratively, ensuring that service projects and leadership initiatives create collective impact.

The Multiple District comprises twelve districts: D1, D2, D3, D4, D5, D6, D7, D8, D9, D10, D11 and D12. Together, they represent more than 210 active clubs and a membership of over 8,000 Leos. This strength reflects not only the scale of the movement but also its ability to inspire and mobilize youth leaders who are committed to serving their communities.

For the Leoistic year 2025/26, under the leadership of Leo Lion Rageesh Yogeswaran MJF PMAF PFLM, Leo Multiple District 306 embraced the powerful theme “Strive to Thrive.”

This theme reflects a bold call to action for Leos to move beyond simply surviving, to struggle, strive and stand strong in order to truly thrive. It embodies the values of resilience, growth and impact while encouraging every Leo to embrace challenges, uplift communities and lead with purpose throughout the year. The theme further represents a set of guiding values: sustainability, responsibility, vision and excellence combined with teamwork, honor, innovation, visibility and empowerment. Through these values, the theme serves as both a vision and a roadmap for the year, reminding every Leo to keep moving forward with strength and purpose.
